Department of Coastal Control

o Areas of Responsibility
The Department of Coastal Control is divided into five sections; each handles the following affairs:
  • Comprehensive Planning Section:
      Assemble and integrate common policies concerning coastal patrol.
      Comprehensive affairs of coastal patrol related laws, regulations and operating procedures.
      Formulation and promulgation of common coastal patrol management plans.
      Matters pertinent to general mobilization for patrol.
      Organization of information pertinent to various meetings on coastal patrol affairs.
      Preparation of coastal patrol data for interpellation by the Legislative Yuan (Congress).
      Preparation of coastal patrol data for inspection by the Control Yuan.
      Preparation of data for the Department of Costal Patrol’s year book.
      Budgeting preparation and execution control.
      Receipt/issue, control and filing of documents of the Department of Coastal Patrol.
      Matters not under the care of other sections.
       
  • Marine Affairs Enforcement Section:
      Formulation, assess and evaluation of marine patrol policies.
      Marine coastal patrol drills.
      Supervision of planning and execution of marine coastal patrol affairs.
      Supervision of joint air-sea patrol operations.
      Amendment to (revision of) marine law-enforcement operational procedures.
      Supervision of marine traffic control and maintenance and handling of marine vessel collision cases.
      Fishery operation petrol/protection and resource protection.
      Supervision of shipwreck rescue and marine disaster relief.
      Supervision of marine environmental protection and conservation.
      Cooperation with Ministry of Transportation and Executive Yuan Environmental Protection Administration.
      Supervision of maintenance and management of marine patrol equipment.
      Handle other affairs relevant to marine patrol and services related to marine affairs.
       
  • Security Inspection Section:
      Formulation, evaluation and update of inter-coastal patrol policies.
      Supervision of entry/exit security inspection at commercial ports.
      Supervision of entry/exit security inspection at non-commercial ports.
      Supervision of maintenance and management of marine-duty-type equipment pertinent to inter-coastal patrol.
      Review and supervision of adjustment of inter-coastal patrol units.
      Supervision of temporary placement of Mainland sailors.
      Supervision of patrol duty related to infectious epidemic prevention.
      Coordination and contact with Ministry of Finance and Council of Agriculture.
      Matters related to controlled coastal areas.
      Other inter-coastal patrol duty related matters.
       
  • Security Protection Section:
      Planning of the itineraries of supervision by superior officials and coordination of extraordinary duties.
      Disaster relief/prevention and emergency management.
      Protection of overall safety of coastal patrol staffs and bases.
      Anti-terrorist actions in marine water and coastal areas; maintaining international commercial port security.
      Coordinate and communicate matters related to national defenses.
      Defense weapon shipment to and inspection of Dongsha and Nansha Islands.
      Supervision of equipment transportation of coastal patrol agencies.
      Matters pertinent to sustainable national development and non-nuclear country projects.
      Review and supervision of special duty projects.
      Cooperation with Ministry of Defense.
      Other matters related to security protection.
       
  • Training and Education Section:
      Planning, supervision and promulgation of the Administration’s training and education policies.
      Matters related to Administration’s training and education development review meeting.
      Integration and planning of Administration’s training and education requirements.
      Overall supervision and examination related to training and education.
      Matters related to review of training and education achievement.
      Matters related to sport activities, duty canine and shooting drill notification.
      Expertise training for judicial police.
      Matters related to marine security drills.
      Supervision of maintenance and management of marine-duty-type equipment pertinent to training and education.
      Supervision of boat-related specialized training.
      Other matters related to training and education.
