Department of Intellignce

o Areas of Responsibility
The Department of Intelligence is divided into five sections; each handles the following affairs:
  • The First Section
      Draft mid to long term development plans for maritime patrol intelligence surveillance and crime investigation policies and execute control related affairs.
      Edit and organize annual work report of maritime patrol intelligence surveillance and crime investigation.
      Evaluation, control, and recommendations for intelligence surveillance system personnel control/transfers operations.
      Plan, convene, and control operations of intelligence and consultation work report meetings.
      Handle affairs relating to budget planning and execution control for intelligence works.
      Overall planning, control/supervision, and evaluation for maritime patrol intelligence surveillance and crime investigation education/training.
      Evaluation of coastal patrol work performance and review/issue of case bonuses.
      Other affairs of the Department of Intelligence not assigned to other sections.
      Other affairs of the Department of Intelligence relating to general management and administration.
       
  • The Second Section
      Coordination, investigation, and handling of foreign crime investigation related cases.
      Affairs relating to establishing intelligence channels and cooperation with maritime law-enforcement or other relevant units of other countries.
      International intelligence coordination, direction, contacts, and utilizations.
      Coordination and control-execution affairs relating to international intelligence coordination report meetings.
      Foreign guests invitations, guest receptions, and foreign contacts required to expand international intelligence operations.
      Collect, organize, and provide information on coastal patrol intelligence and surveillance equipments of other countries.
      Other affairs relating to foreign intelligence.
       
  • The Third Section
      Plan, control, supervise, coordinate and evaluate crime investigation works relating to anti smuggling and illegal immigrants.
      Matters related to Executive Yuan’s social security intensification project meetings.
      Coordination, responsibility assignment, and control pertinent to anti-smuggling/illegal immigrant meetings.
      Criminological analysis of smuggling and illegal entry/exit.
      Planning, control, monitor, and evaluations for telecommunication surveillance operations.
      Planning, control, supervision, and evaluations for maritime patrol radar operations.
      Planning, supervision, and evaluation of the Administration’s crime investigation regulation studies and related publications.
      Coordination and contact of this Administration with judicial, prosecutorial and police agencies.
      Other affairs related to surveillance/investigation and illegal funds crackdown operations.
       
  • The Fourth Section
      Planning, information-collection directions and situation analysis pertinent to maritime/coastal security intelligence work.
      Planning, supervision, studies and utilizations pertinent to maritime intelligence and surveillance.
      Planning, directions, studies, utilizations, surveillances, supervision and evaluations on works related to anti-infiltration.
      National Security intelligence surveillance and anti-surveillance work planning, directions, studies, utilizations, supervision, and evaluations.
      Coordination, job-delegation, and control for National security intelligence surveillance, anti-surveillance, and anti infiltration work reports (meetings).
      Planning relating to collection/organization and utilization of information on hydrology, sea climate, fishing season, nautical charts, and maps.
      Planning, supervision and evaluation of works related to management, identification and transfer of prisoners temporarily detained.
      Other intelligence study/organization related affairs.
       
  • The Fifth Section
      Consultation work policy drafting, directions, supervisions, evaluations, and execution.
      Planning, supervision and evaluation of coastal patrol services.
      Planning, supervision and evaluation of maritime/coastal crime prevention tasks.
      Planning, supervision and evaluation of maritime patrol intelligence work.
      Overall planning and utilization for satellite photographing and air -photographing (surveillance).
      Planning, supervision and evaluation of maritime patrol intelligence equipment.
      Coordination, control, supervision and evaluation of tasks pertinent to database sharing between government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
      Supervision and audit of planning, establishment and management of the Administration’s classified network.
      Planning, integrated direction, support and evaluation of all-in intelligence works.
      Other matters related to consultation, coastal service, intelligence information, surveillance equipment, all-in intelligence, satellite photograph and crime prevention.
