Patrol Units and Organization

Duties

The Patrol Units are in charge of the following:

  1. Control and security maintenance of the coast areas.
  2. Security checks onboard of ships and other water-borne transport entering and exiting ports.
  3. Anti-smuggling surveillance of sea, coast, and river-mouth areas; prevention of illegal entry; and execution of commercial port personnel security checks and crime investigations.
  4. Mediation, investigation, and execution of marine and coast foreign affairs.
  5. Collecting smuggling intelligence; Investigation on infiltration and security matters.
  6. Research and development of marine affairs.
  7. Executing the following:
    1. Control and maintenance of sea traffic.
    2. Marine rescue, marine disaster emergency rescue, and management of marine disputes.
    3. Fishery and fishery resource protection.
    4. Marine environment protection and conservation.
  8. Other coast patrol related affairs.
