Investigation of Smuggling & Interdiction of Illegal Migrants

In accordance with Article 4 of The Coast Guard Act, the Coast Guard Administration shall conduct the investigation of smuggling and interdiction of illegal migrants in territorial waters, coastal areas, river mouths and non-commercial ports; we also conduct security inspection and other relevant law enforcement in commercial ports.

The Reconnaissance Brigades of Coastal Patrol Directorate General, the Investigation Brigade of Maritime Patrol Directorate General and other subordinate investigation units affiliated with Coastal Patrol Corps and Offshore Flotillas comprise the CGA law enforcement team. The CGA law enforcement personnel investigate smuggling of firearms, drugs, farm products, fishery, animal husbandry products, counterfeit cigarettes, liquors and wildlife. They conduct interdiction of the illegal migrants, the majority of which is from Vietnam in recent years.

To intensify the investigation of smuggling and the interdiction of illegal migrants, the CGA devotes itself to Special Projects such as “An-Hai Project (Investigation of smuggling of firearm and drugs, and interdiction of illegal migrants)” and “An-Kan Project (Investigation of smuggling of farm products, fishery, animal husbandry products, counterfeit cigarettes, liquors and wildlife)”. So far, the performance of the CGA law enforcement personnel is recognized and appreciated by the public.
