In response to the participation of four Mainland China Coast Guard (CCG) formations in the "Joint Sword-2024B" military exercise and their patrol operations in waters surrounding Taiwan, the ROC Taiwan Coast Guard Administration (TCGA) issued following statements:
1.On October 14, four CCG vessels— 2901, 1305, 1303, and 2102—conducted patrol operations in the vicinity of Taiwan waters. As of now, these vessels have not entered Taiwan’s Restricted or Prohibited Areas. Upon detecting the operation, TCGA immediately activated its Response Center and dispatched frontline Cutterss to monitor and respond accordingly.
2.TCGA Director-General Chang, Chung-lung reaffirmed that they remains firmly committed to safeguarding the nation’s maritime sovereignty and territory. In coordination with Taiwan’s armed forces, TCGA continues to employ integrated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems to maintain comprehensive awareness of activities in nearby waters. All CCG vessel movements are under close observation, with appropriate operational deployments already in place. TCGA will uphold a firm enforcement posture to defend Taiwan’s maritime rights and ensure the safety of local fishermen.
