1141211-China Coast Guard Harassment in Kinmen Waters , Dec 11, 2025

China Coast Guard harassment patterns change again; Taiwan Coast Guard Administration responds rapidly and drives vessels away
Today (11th), Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessels again formed a flotilla to intrude into the restricted waters of Kinmen, attempting to challenge Taiwan’s capability to respond simultaneously at multiple points. Taiwan Coast Guard Administration (TCGA) maintained real-time tracking of the targets, quickly dispatched patrol boats to advance and deploy, and responded comprehensively with a firm law enforcement stance, successfully driving the vessels away.
At 8:50 this morning, TCGA 12th Patrol District of the Kinmen-Matsu-Penghu Branch detected four CCG vessels—“14533,” “14606,” “14529,” and “14603”—with their Automatic Identification System (AIS) turned off. The vessels entered the restricted waters of Kinmen in pairs from the south of Lieyu and southwest of Liao Luo, sailing eastward to harass our waters. TCGA dispatches four patrol boats immediately approached and conducted parallel monitoring to prevent them from entering deeper into our waters, while continuously broadcasting in Chinese and English, demanding a course change. Under the firm enforcement of the patrol boats, the Chinese vessels exited the restricted waters of Kinmen at 10:50.
TCGA emphasized that, unlike the previous intrusion from the east of Liao Luo and southwest of Lieyu, the Chinese vessels adopted different entry points and simultaneously sailed eastward, demonstrating a continuous evolution in harassment tactics, deliberately challenging Taiwan’s surveillance and response limits. TCGA will maintain high-intensity monitoring, rapid response, and deployment capabilities around the clock, closely track maritime dynamics, respond fully to such intrusions, and safeguard national sovereignty and maritime security.
