1141226-China Coast Guard Harassment in Kinmen Waters , Dec 26, 2025
After China Denies responsibility for damaging Taiwan’s submarine cables, China Coast Guard harasses Kinmen waters again
At around 14:30 on the 25th, Taiwan Coast Guard Administration (TCGA) 12th Patrol District detected a formation of Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessels west of Dadanshan’s prohibited restricted waters and immediately dispatched patrol boats for pre-positioned deployment. At 15:00, three vessels—“14605,” “14606,” and “14609”—entered Kinmen’s prohibited restricted waters in a single column from the south of Dadanshan. Three pre-positioned patrol boats immediately conducted one-to-one parallel monitoring to prevent deeper intrusion, while broadcasting in Chinese and English to firmly notify that their actions severely undermine regional peace, maritime safety, and demand immediate course change. Under full TCGA enforcement, the Chinese vessels finally exited Kinmen’s restricted waters at 16:12.
TCGA strongly condemned CCG for insistently forming a flotilla to intrude under extremely poor sea conditions, which is unprofessional, irrational, and disregards navigation safety, posing severe risks to passing vessels. TCGA emphasized that safeguarding Taiwan’s prohibited and restricted waters and defending national sovereignty is its responsibility and mission. Regardless of weather, sea conditions, or any situational changes, Coast Guard units maintain high-intensity monitoring and response capabilities around the clock, adhering to firm law enforcement to defend national sovereignty and ensure national security.
