Coast Guard in Taitung helped the 「Ana Varu」finding their hometwon
In order to explore the source of Austronesian Culture ,Burghard Pieske,famous german navigator,and Ignacio Camacho,aboriginal from Guam took the sailing canoe「Ana Varu」,set out from the southern Taiwan on March 13,via Fangliao,Pingtung and Red Chai pit,arrived at Lanyu,Taitung on March 16.These two navigator continued their journey at 10 a.m.today.Holding the spirits of serving people,Coastal Patrol Corps 8-1,eastern coastal patrol bureau,seeing them off warmly.
This journey which was supposed to set out on 9th this month was postponed to 13th because of the weather.
The ceremony was held at 10 a.m. on 13th.In order to explore the source of Austronesian Culture The well-known canoe 「Ana Varu」which was took by famous navigator set out again and stopped in Fangliao,Pingtung and Red Chai pit because of the weather.They arrived at Lanyu,Taitung on March 16 finally.
After communicating with local aboriginals for two days,they left at 10 a.m. March 19,and kept going in their journey.”Our collegues saw them off warmly and provided them some necessities,let them feel welcome.”was added by Coastal Patrol Corps 8-1.
Mr.Yang who was the commander of Coastal Patrol Corps 8-1 said,”Not only conduct the law enforcement affairs and maritime services but try to promote the quality of people serving in the same time.If there something is needed, please let us know .
